Yo ho yo ho a pirates post for me! That's right it's September and that can only mean Talk Like a Pirate's Day is coming up! This year GSP and ARK will be partying on Saturday 16th September in Reets Retreat on the Glass Dance Floor. Join DJ Gemmikins at 3pm Eastern/7pm UTC for liveness and piratey goodness and booty!

Along with September we are cruising away from Summer into Autumn and soon to Halloween! We expect you to enjoy the fall and come up with some funky parties and hope to be your hosts in the ghoulish get togethers.

Summer to Fall means a change, and GSP is no exception to that around here. Firstly GSP will no longer be using Streamlicensing starting 18th September and will now be a station in the SoniXCast Broadcasting Network. We told you last month that we were experiencing issues streaming and have seen no positive changes yet so we have switched providers and bring you good news with the fact we will be under a freer reign on what we can do as DJs. That means no real limitations on playing music and artists, no issue with announcing what artists we have up next and a faster turn around in requests for you all. All in all thanks Canada for being freer to us and "As Canadian as reasonable under the circumstances."

Secondly Gemmikins is swamped with RL at present and is sad to say that after DJing the Pirate Day Party she will be back to a hiatus and ninja show schedule, she hopes to be back on track soon but is unsure how the rest of the year will go and is sorry for the lack of shows the last few weeks.

Hopefully all of you listeners are keeping cool in the Northern hemisphere and warm in the Southern parts. Most of us here at GSP have been enjoying our holidays and summer time, going on trips away and just generally enjoying the weather and time with family and friends. We're sorry for the sporadic shows lately but hopefully as we cruise through the remainder of this year we'll get more shows.

That being said we have news about our shows at present. You may notice missing shows or shows that are heavily restricted on what is being played and that requests we receive from you may not be something we can play, we're not doing this on purpose we have reasoning behind it. At present GSP runs with Streamlicensing as a provider, sadly they have lost their license with ASCAP at the moment due to breaching of license and on payment obligation. At the moment Streamlicensing is trying to reassure us and it's other customers on how they are working on amending this however what that means for us is a limited choice on what we cannot play on the air and in our playlists. Currently we are going through our music collection against a database and we are going to be limited for as long as this goes on or until we have a new streaming identity to use.

So what does that mean for you? Well it means you'll still get potential liveness but our staff may be limited on what we can potentially play and may not be able to fulfill requests at this time. We are hoping this will be a shorter resolution period but it's a little bleak at this time. So bear with us and hopefully things will be better later on this year.

Lastly we have events coming up for you guys! Talk like a Pirate Day will be happening in September with ARK hosting it. We will bring more details as we get that finalised and secondly we will likely have more Halloween events to come for you as we get into October, now is the time to start getting those requests in for us to host before we are used by others!

We’ve got a few things coming up. On July 1st we have AO Anniversary with ARK. As is Gridstream’s style this will be a party.

In the broader community Secret World Legends is heavily into beta testing. June 26th is the day it’ll launch.

As we’ve said for the last few news posts we are looking for more DJs. If you are interested speak to one of our DJs or send Vallikat a message on the forums.

May the fourth be with you, yes it's May 4th or Star Wars day for some today and this sparks off the beginnings of a lot of things happening in May. Tomorrow is no exception with Cinco de Mayo and there will definitely be some latin music coming your way in the regular Friday shows. Along with this there is not only the GSP Anniversary coming up later this month but also ARK are hosting an Expo for us.

The GSP Anniversary is set to be coming your way May 19th, we're still hashing out all the extra details but it will be filled with goodies and liveness and tons of fun, so come along and celebrate with us!

The ARK Expo will be coming to you Saturday May 27th at 6pm UTC/2pm Eastern and will give you some insight into the world of ARK and the world of Rubi-Ka and Shadowlands. Join us for some fun and madness and I'm sure a lot of goodies!

Other than that we are still looking for more DJs and request that anyone interested speak to one of our DJs about how to go forward with the process. We have noticed there were some issues with the website and emailing but we hope this is now fixed, however if you have had issue submitting recruitment information or events feel free to contact a member of our team and we'll see if we can assist.
